The Crucible Summary - iMovie Trailer

College English - 6 Word Essay
As part of our Narrative Essay unit, we studied Ernest Hemingway's 6 Word Essay: "For Sale. Baby Shoes. Never Worn." We analyzed how these 6 words tell a story while being packed with a narrative persona, emotion, and tone. I posed the 6 Word challenge to my students. I suggested they avoid the bumper-sticker, philosophy-of-life approach, but rather focus on telling a story from a significant time in their lives. These students rose to the challenge and exceeded my expectations. Enjoy.
After reading about the three persuasive appeals in preparation for their persuasive essay, we decided to have a little creative fun first and apply the appeals in a commercial. These students did an excellent job. Hilarious and creative.
These students created a humorous (yet accurate) Literature Circle project over the novel The Great Gatsby.
